Make It Happen - C.I.C.

It’s now more than 5 years since Amy and Chris set us on our pathway as a company limited by guarantee, 5 years in which we have made many new friends, helped many of our partner organisations achieve huge impacts, and delivered powerful projects of change here in our local area. A brief exploration of our website and Facebook page reveals a storied history of events, activities, volunteering and community support, from remaining open through the difficult times of COVID, to running environmental projects like Nourish to Flourish, and receiving National Lottery funding for our community hub, formerly known as Place of Contribution and now thriving as Our Vibrant Village Living Room.  

 

Just as our community has been on a journey of self discovery and determination, so too has Make It Happen. We have been working towards full C.I.C. status for many months, and cannot express enough thanks to our incredibly supportive board for their tireless efforts and enormous expertise! A particular mention here for Sophie who has kept us up to date with the whole process and done much of the heavy lifting, but also for our whole board for their strategic foresight, ambition for our community and willingness to grow Make It Happen as a truly Asset Based Community Development vehicle for Birkenhead.  

 

Are the full details of our C.I.C. odyssey a little bit dry for writing an engaging website article? Perhaps, but the ongoing development that it enables us to commit to is nothing if not exciting, inspiring and uplifting. There’s now a long list of things like letterheads, email signatures and so on to update with our new credentials, so for now, thank you for being with us on this wonderful journey and we truly hope to see you soon!
