What it is:

Welcome to Extending Experiences at Make It Happen!

Here our friendly, dedicated duo of Rachael and Anthony are following on from the excellent work and fantastic results of the Offering Opportunities programme, run all through the dark days of the global pandemic lock down with the support of the European Social Fund (ESF).

Our Experience Ambassadors Rachael and Anthony work tirelessly to support participants from many diverse walks of life, tailoring our unique and personally orientated programme to support people getting back into life, their communities, further education, paid work and volunteering roles.

That is, after all, what Extending Experiences is all about!

Who we are and how we're funded

Here at Make It Happen, it's Anthony and Rachael who deliver our bespoke programme here for the ESF.

The European Social Fund promotes economic and social cohesion in communities across Europe. The aim of ESF is to support the creation of jobs, which it does by co-funding projects that improve the level of employment, skills, the quality of jobs and the inclusiveness of the labour market.

They are our source of funding for this round of participants up to 28th February 2022, enabling us to offer funded training options for our participants, as well as making it possible to fund travel expenses or childcare costs while we work with people to achieve their own personal goals.

Desired impact

We have a very person centric approach, not just with our five ways to well being program but also with the outcomes we are aiming to achieve with our participants.

We focus on a community based asset development model, which in essence means our main mission is to find out what people are passionate about, what they are good at and how they define their identity, and help them use these assets to become more engaged in their community, more resilient and self reliant.

Outcomes for our participants range from:

  • Mental Health Support,

  • Volunteering Placements,

  • Paid Roles,

  • Routes into Further Education,

  • Personal Development.

Get involved

Do you know someone or feel that you yourself might be struggling with your situation in life or mental health?

  • Anxiety,

  • Insecurity,

  • Lack of confidence

These are just a few of the most common barriers our participants have come to us with.

We work with learning disabilities and difficulties and are fully inclusive, anyone about the age of 18 and with the right to live and work in the U.K. is most welcome to get in touch to explore how we can help you.
